History of Birla Mandir Jaipur

According to beliefs a respected Maharaja of Jaipur handed over a land to the reputed Birla Family just at a sum of 1 rupee. And later the Birla Family built this temple on the same land itself. The construction of the Birla Temple began in 1977 by the B.M Industrial Foundation. It took a lot of time and effort to finally complete the construction of the temple in 1985. According to history they invited Mahatma Gandhi Ji to inaugurate the temple. However Gandhi Ji said that he would only come and inaugurate this temple if the temple would be open for people of all castes of the society. Later in 22nd February 1985 finally the inauguration of the temple took place. And since then this temple is open for everyone irrespective of their caste and creed.

Architecture of Birla Mandir Jaipur

The architecture of the Birla Mandir Jaipur is one of the major attractions of visiting this temple. Built entirely with white marble the architecture of this temple is modern but with a mix of traditional style. There are some intricate carvings on the walls and pillars of this temple that look beautiful.
